This is the fourth update in the April 2021 challenge to find new clients.
Recap of the challenge
The challenge is intended to help you find clients whether on Upwork or via emailing businesses. As a part of the challenge, you get to choose what you prefer and commit to contacting a number of businesses each day for the month.
How many you choose is up to you. The goal is not to send the most but to make sure you can complete your goal.
Let’s dive into my fourth and final update of the challenge.
I can’t believe it’s only the fourth update and the fourth week. So much has happened.
I’m beginning to see responses after I tweaked the industry I’ve been playing with earlier this week and I’m now working with some businesses to outline basic ideas.
I bet that I’ll soon have as many responses as in the last three weeks in the other industry. I also think I’ve figured out why.
In the other industry, people tend to be very skeptical of emails since it is related to security and a popular type of attack is related to fake emails. It might explain it all.
So what can we learn from that?
Don’t pick an industry you don’t know when you are starting out. Luckily, I have done this before, so I knew what the problem was and could quickly work to fix it.
Results and mistakes
Currently, I’m playing around with a few different services within the marketing space as I know they work. It might take me a few tries to find a winner that I’m also happy with. The services I’ve been testing last year worked out well but I think there is more to gain.
This is technically the final update in this experiment. I’ll continue to play around with it and I might update you as I move forward but not on a weekly basis.
Until next week, I have to follow up with all the leads I’ve contacted along with work on ideas for the interested businesses.
